Where to find your username

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.
  2. Your username is the name at the top of the profile, without the @ sign.
  3. Or copy your profile link from the share option and paste it above.

How to create a Instagram QR Code

  1. Enter your username or paste your profile link.
  2. Style the code with your brand colors and add your logo.
  3. Download SVG (best for print) or a large PNG, then test-scan it with a phone.

What the code opens

The code contains a link to your public Instagram profile. A phone camera that scans it opens the Instagram app on your profile, or the browser if the app is not installed, where people can tap Follow. Nothing you type here is sent to us, and you do not need an account to make the code.

Where Instagram codes work best

Put the code where people already hold a phone and have a reason to follow you: shop counters, receipts and packaging, event badges, market stalls, restaurant menus and business cards. A short line next to it, such as "Follow us for daily specials", tells people why they should scan.

Make it scan and look right

Use dark modules on a light background and print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide, larger on posters. Keep any logo small, and add your handle as text under the code for people who cannot scan. The print size guide and the color and contrast guide cover the details.

Static or dynamic

This is a static code: it never expires and works offline, but it points to the exact link you entered. If you might change your handle, or you want to count scans, create a dynamic QR code that points to your profile and change the destination later. Related tools: Facebook, YouTube and TikTok codes.

Frequently asked questions

Does the code work for a private account?

It opens the profile, but people only see the follow button until you approve them. Make the account public if you want strangers to see your posts after scanning.

What happens if I change my username?

The code contains your profile link, which includes the username, so it stops working after a rename. Generate and print a new code, or use a dynamic QR code that you can repoint later.

Is this an official Instagram code?

No. QRVane is independent and not affiliated with Instagram or Meta. The result is a standard QR code that contains your public Instagram link.
