How to create a WhatsApp QR Code

  1. Enter your number with country code.
  2. Add an optional message.
  3. Download and test-scan.

How a WhatsApp QR code works

The code contains a wa.me link built from your number and an optional message. Scanning it opens a WhatsApp chat with you, or WhatsApp Web on a computer, with the message already typed.

Format the number correctly

Use the full international number: country code first, with no plus sign, spaces or leading zeros inside the link. Our generator cleans what you type, but check it against the number you actually use on WhatsApp, because a number that is not registered there leads to an error.

Write a useful prefilled message

A short line such as "Hi, I'd like to book a table for 4" saves effort and tells you why someone is contacting you. Anyone who scans can see your number, so use a business line if you do not want to share a personal one. The code is static: to change the number later you must reprint, or use a dynamic code that points to the wa.me link. More in the WhatsApp QR code guide.
