QR Codes on Business Cards: What Works

By QRVane · Updated

Two things work well on a card: a vCard code that saves your contact, or a link to a page about you or your work.

vCard or link?

A vCard saves your details instantly but can't be edited after printing. A link (dynamic) lets you change the page later and see how many people scan. Pick based on whether your details or your portfolio change more often.

Size and placement

Aim for at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) square with a clear border around it. The back of the card is usually best: it gives the code room and keeps the front clean.

Paper and finish

Matte stock scans more reliably than glossy, which reflects light, and foil or heavy texture over the code can break it. Request a printed proof and scan it with a few phones before ordering the full run.

Our business card page produces the code and an A4 sheet of ten cards with cut guides for home or office printing.
