How to Make a vCard QR Code for Contact Details

By QRVane · Updated

A vCard QR code stores your name, phone, email and other details in the standard contact-card format. When someone scans it, their phone offers to save you as a new contact, with no typing.

Keep it short

Every extra field makes the pattern denser, and denser codes need to be printed larger to scan. Name, one phone number, one email and a website is usually enough. Skip the postal address and social profiles unless you need them.

Use international phone numbers

Write numbers with the country code (+961 …, +1 …) so they work wherever the card travels.

Remember it's static

The details are stored inside the code. That means it works offline and never depends on a service, but you can't edit it after printing. If your details change often, put them on a web page and make a dynamic code pointing to it.

Always test-scan the printed card with both an iPhone and an Android phone before ordering a large print run.
