QR Code Menus for Restaurants: Setup and Printing

By QRVane · Updated

A menu QR code should survive menu changes. If you encode the menu's web address directly, the code is permanent but you can't change where it points. A dynamic code points to a short link you control, so you can swap the menu without reprinting.

URL or PDF?

A responsive web page reads best on phones. A PDF is quicker to produce; with a hosted PDF you can replace the file later and every printed code keeps working. Keep the file small so it loads quickly on mobile data.

One code per table

Giving each table its own code (all pointing to the same menu) lets you see which tables scan, and you can print the table number under the code. Our menu tool creates them in one go.

Printing

Print at least 2.5 cm (1 in) wide for table tents, larger for walls and windows. Matte lamination avoids glare; check the code isn't hidden behind a candle or glass. Always test the printed proof.
