How to Add a Logo to a QR Code Without Breaking It
By QRVane · Updated
A logo sits on top of the code, so it hides some modules. The code still scans because error correction rebuilds what's covered, but only up to a point.
Rules that keep it scannable
Use error correction Q or H. Keep the logo at about 20–25% of the code's width at most. Use a simple logo on a plain or white background rather than a detailed image. Never cover the three large corner squares.
Contrast and color
The code itself still needs strong contrast, dark modules on a light background. A colorful logo is fine; low-contrast modules are not.
Test it properly
Scan the final file on screen and on a printed proof, with at least two different phones and at the real-world distance people will scan from. If any phone struggles, shrink the logo or raise error correction.
Our logo generator starts logo codes on level Q and shows a warning when the logo gets too big.
